For all the silly white barstards,A league Mens and women's are getting towards final half dozen or so games in the race for Premiers plates.Over the weekend the 2nd placers both won and in Mens it took the centralCoasties to top of the ladder,In Women's 2nd beat 1st to narrow the gap to 2 points.
In Mungo ball the mighty SAINTS(11 in a row, never before, never again) sit top of the ladder( wont stay there too long but wont get the WOODy either).
A league women's first past post(premiers) melbourneCity.sydneeeeFC bottled it in last game which they had to win(lost 4-0) but still came 2nd.Playoffs soon to decide which teams play these 2 in sem..eyeFinals
A league mens have 5/6 games to go .Wellington 3 points ahead of central coast, forget the rest ..these 2 are by far the most consistent.
7/45 TenBold..Sydney derby tonight, it will be hard fought with both teams needing a win to consolidate a place in playoffs...I favour FC as they have been more consistent after a terrible start and bringing in a new coach who has done a good job so far...
Both teams are robbed of 2 GOOD players each who are on olympic team duty @ Asian Cup in Qatar....FC have the better replacements but its THE derby and 3rd of the season with one win each...A draw wont surprise me and Yellow and RED cards come out in this fixture....looks like a 30K crowd and the RIOT SQUAD will be there...Active support require wristbands as well...thats to identify the naughties who go to the wrong end and cause BOVVER!
Well yesterday concluded the A league mens premiership rounds bar a catch up game on Wednesday night that will decide first place and the premiers(first past post).At present Wellington PhoeNIX are a point in front of central Coasties mariners who play Adelaide at Gosford and require a point(draw) or 3(win) to win the premiership.If Adelaide win, the NIX win the premiership plate.
T he top 6 playoffs begin next weekend with a Melbourne Derby, Victory host City and In Sydneeee its home advantage to FC versus the MacArthur Bull shitters.Losers get ready for mad Monday.NIX and Coasties play the winners over home and away legs to decide the teams in the grand final.
The A league Women's GF is Melb City versus Syd FC in Melbourne this Saturday arvo at Aami park.
Gosford on Wednesday night will be a big atmosphere with Adelaides Irakunda last game in A league before he joins Bayern Munich in Bundesliga next season.

Yesterdays Melbourne Derby was a CRACKA...Victory had a RED around 30 mins, so when full time came at 90+ injury time some pretty tired boys.
Score was tied at 1-1 which meant another 15mins each way THEN penalties if it was still even...
THE SHOOTOUT was extraordinary .Paul IZZO(after saving a penalty in the first half of normal time) rose to the occasion and made himself an A league legend.SAVED 3 dotshots to give Victory the VICTORY!...Never before in an A league penalty shoot out has there been 3 saves in the regular set of 5 kicks to each team.
So the Mens A league now moves into the 2 legged Home/AWAY(wont be a soap opera!) semi finals.
